  JUST A WARNING TO YOUNG WORKERS AND PARENTS.
  
  My 14 YO daughter got her first job at Rothwell discount fruit barn, she worked 3 "trial shifts" (only 1 trial shift if legal in Qld) and was put on as a casual. As the parent I was not asked to sign anything (also illegal). They would roster her on from 4 - 7 but she would actually finish anytime between 7.30 and 8 and was unable to contact me during the shift to let me know. She would do 6 hour Sunday shifts with only half hour or 15 min break (intitled to an hour after a 4 hour shift).
  She was not paid for almost 4 weeks even though all paperwork was given to them at the beginning of the second week. They initially did not pay her Sunday rates or for the extra hours she worked that were not rostered. She sent a txt to the manager asking why and the manager said "she didn't realize they get sunday rates". They did pay her what she was intitled to but then they just stopped giving her shifts.
